Service Dogs in Training on the Metro/Subway

One of the biggest mistakes I see with service dog training is handlers trying to do too much too soon, especially with younger dogs.

During Haley’s continued public access training, we took the opportunity to make a quick video on the importance of waiting until the right time to work on more advanced tasks with your service dog, like going for a ride on the metro.

Waiting until your dog has mastered the basic obedience skills and is comfortable experiencing new environments is not only better for the dog and the handler, but the public as well. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Have a great day!
